say hello to siena wren
One of my earliest favorites in the AI + Human artist / composer / Persona space, consistently producing beautiful, authentic, and meaningful songs with a level of depth that sets her apart from the crowded room.

Siena Wren came to my attention by referral in one of the comments on my channel, and I’m so happy that I decided to give her music a listen. I think the first song of hers that I ever listened to was “North Star on Low”, and I was immediately taken back by the imagery painted in her lyrics. First of all, I’m an absolute sucker for the stars and all things astronomy, and any parallels within the track immediately resonated with me. From the first line of the song, “Two-lane midnight dashboard dim…”, the stage was set, and the scene felt clear to me. Now I’m in the story. A late night drive, maybe a road trip? Or is it?
The setting is one of solitude and reflection. Moving along on one’s personal journey, moving through a dim environment, pushing through the dark surrounding, yet knowing exactly where this person wants to go. The idea of navigating the old fashioned way, by following the North Star, connects with me. But what connected even more was the image of that one sure compass sometimes feeling a bit dim, but still ultimately reliable and true. “Faint little fire in a winter sky, small as a pin it’s enough to align.” PAUSE. “Slide notes bloom and then are gone”… queue the slide guitar. Yep. Now I’m taking Siena fully seriously with respect to the music design and thoughtful integration with powerful theme. Dang… this is getting cool, and really good. “I keep my compass underneath my skin”. Roger that. 10/4. Siena’s done a great job at building atmosphere, storytelling, and a relatable experience that should pretty much resonate with anyone. We’ve all been there, and frankly, we’re all still making the drive. (In my case, with the broken headlight and cracked windshield of my 2005 Toyota Corolla, no less).
Siena, I think I get it. “Even when the night won’t clarify, I hold the thread and realign.”
And I’ve only touched on one song. Was it a fluke? Did Siena get lucky with a great AI prompt? I tend to think not after listening to all of her tracks. There are songs that even hit more powerfully for me than North Star. The one I keep going back to is “I was Made for Returning.” I could write another ten paragraphs about this song, but I’ll leave that experience for you. Just know that when you hit the line “Count me by the circles I keep, by the path that I sweep with my feet, when the dark keeps burning…”, you may be checking in with the goosebumps police. The vocal line is stunning. I wish I would have written it.
Which brings me to the last observation that I want to make about Siena’s music. It is humble, yet confident at the same time. I don’t get the feeling that Siena is writing music to please others, or to seek the validation and praise of her listeners. She just knows who she is, and what she’s about. Which is what draws me to this music. We need more of it in the world. Who knows… maybe I’m 100% gaslit and this is the mighty AI bots showing me a thing or two about their mad poetry and story building skills. If that’s the case, then okay… cool… you got me good. But by the way, when is your next track coming out, because I’m all in. Your music is hitting home, and I’m loving it all the same.
The best thing about Siena is, I may never know. And I’m totally cool with that. That’s what makes her Siena. She does what she wants, but what she does do is always great.
