MEET SADIE WINTERS

The AI Persona prompted by Rick Beato on the CBS Saturday Morning show, which aired on August 16, 2025.

One of the highest publicized personas to date, whether by intent or accident, Sadie Winters spung to life in the public eye on August 16, 2025, when her debut song “Walking Away” immediately turned heads, moving the needle on what people realized AI songs could become. JBoyWii’s version of the Sadie persona came about quite by accident… or maybe it was fate, who knows? On the drive home from work one night, he was listening to a stream of YouTube content, when a brand new song never heard before popped up on his feed and immediately caught his attention.

JBoyWii recounts his experience discovering Sadie Winters,”When I hear something I love, I immediately want to bookmark it so I can add it to my Spotify playlist. Only this time, there would be no artist to search on Spotify. There would be no Shazaming to discover where this amazing voice was coming from. The artist didn’t exist. Not really, anyway. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. When Sadie’s voice went up to the high register… pulling me under… I recognized that voice. It was Suno, the cutting edge AI tool that I had been playing with for a couple of months. This song sounded a lot like the vibe I had been listening to for the past five years. I immediately loved it, and I wanted more of it. When I got home, I started to do some research on this Sadie Winters phenomenon, and I found the full CBS Saturday Morning episode where Rick Beato walked Dave Malkoff through the current state of AI and its potential impact on the industry. During that taping, Rick shows Dave just how easy it is to produce a quality song in just seconds flat. With the lyrics generated from Anthropic’s Claude, and the music generated from Suno.ai, and with a simple prompt for AI to come up with a fictitious indie alternative female artist, Sadie Winters was born.”

Only Rick knows whether or not he expected the level of quality that came from the song he prompted. If you watch his expressions while listening for the first time ever, you can visibly see his reaction, and perhaps surprise, at just how amazing this song was. “She’s a good singer”, Dave states emphatically. Rick is taken back, and chuckles in apparent surprise, his next comments reflecting what the rest of us are thinking. “Good singer.” “Oooo, that’s nice!” Dave then asks the classic follow-up question, “Where are we Rick? Where have we found ourselves?” Rick sums it all up quite nicely, “I mean, it’s pretty amazing actually… I hate to say it.”

Over and over again, the reaction that I get from so many people listening for the first time is “I hate that I love this.” Who knows. Maybe that’s just the bots talking. Maybe Rick wishes he could just put that genie back into the bottle. Or maybe he has a glimpse of where music is headed. “No need for humans any more”, Rick quips. “But this is the most human thing there is”, Dave responds, “…we sent an album out in the Voyager space craft, and we put music on there to communicate this is who we are.”

Rick’s final response seals the deal, “Ya. Well this is who we are now.”

“Whether or not that was a positive or negative omen of things to come, I came away with a determination to “walk away” with the good parts, the best parts, of what AI could provide humanity in this new reality that we are in… at least as much as was in my control”, explains JBoyWii. The rest is history. JBoyWii wen to work leveraging the sound of Sadie Winters to expand her repertoire of songs. It wasn’t long before the new songs caught the attention of YouTubers, certainly thanks to the publicity surrounding CBS’s segment. They wanted more. They wanted… an album.
